The Dead Man's Doll

Somewhere I’m needed, somewhere else we’re feared. Somewhere we’re looked down on, in others we’re revered. I sit there with my friend, my constant companion through time. But nobody knows who they are, this little friend of mine. A person by my side, a companion through my sleep, The power when I can’t hope, the shadow driving my feet. Somewhere I get up, somewhere else I sleep, Somewhere I’m in at the shallow end, in others we’re in the deep. My friend helps me think, without him I wouldn’t at all. If it weren’t for him to hold my hand, then I’d be set to fall. The others beside my being, I know what they all say, But they’re all alone now, they’ve got no friends today. Somewhere I gave up, somewhere he gives up too, Somewhere he’s there with me, down to the ground and through. It doesn’t feel like forever, forever never does, My heart still a-pumping, to the one who’s forever abuzz. Don’t say goodbye to him for me, he’s not heading home, That’s what they’d say though, when they’re b...

Producing for Theatre: An Update from Ryan Croughan - Part One

In a change to the regularly scheduled programming, I’m going to be telling you about producing for theatre. It’s Ryan Croughan here, the executive producer of Minor Spillage productions and the producer of the upcoming stage show “Big Package in the City of Chaos” - coming to a theatre near you very soon. The show has been an amazing privilege to produce, but, let’s step back for a second - what does that actually mean? What is a producer? Well, as you are about to hear, it really is quite wishy washy. A producer can be many different things in many different scenarios. In TV, theatre and radio (all of which are mediums I have worked in) I tend to think of the role as being the ultimate enabler. A producer should enable every aspect of a production to be possible. To what your appetite for our new show Off Script, here’s a special message for you from its presenters, Ben and Lloyd… “Hey everyone! We’ve had an amazing time recording for this project with Minor Spillage! We love acting with a passion, if you love the industry as much as we do, hopefully you’ll spend a little time with us while we chat away… for some reason… Let us know what you think and we’ll see you around! Lloyd and Ben x” Thanks for that guys.  Off Script is the first of our brand new podcasts coming to you in 2026. Huzzah! They’re two actors who have worked for many years developing their craft, and are eagerly progressing in their careers. They have worked in every form you could imagi...
